Apology: We must apologise that Time Trials at Tollcross was held in the 6 lane back pool. This meant that we were unable to run all the planned events and prevented parents and team members from participating fully. This was a last minute change which was outwith our control. Our thanks go to the on-shift pool staff who worked hard to ensure that we were able to proceed at all.

Thanks to all of the Swimmers, coaches and volunteers who came along to Time Trials.

It is with great sadness that the Club must announce the death of one of our much loved coaches - Johnstone Shearer who passed away today (3rd November 2016) after a long battle with illness.

Johnstone was a very successful swimmer with the club for many years before moving into his role as JD2 coach. He was hugely popular with all members of the club: swimmers, coaches and parents. He was famous for his dry wit and sense of humour and will be sadly missed by all.

The club wishes to send our condolences to his family - father Alan who is also well known to many members of the swimming community and his sister Jodean.

Update: Johnstone’s funeral is on Wednesday 9th November at 1.15pm at the Schaw Kirk, Drongan then to Drongan Cemetery at 2pm. There will be a collection at the funeral for the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research.

Heather Albin will be available on Tuesday 15th November from 4.45 – 6.15pm at Tollcross if anyone wishes to speak to her regarding the School of Sport Open day on Saturday 19th November at 10.00am or alternatively she can be contacted by email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
